Deep-Red & Far-Red
Deep-red and far-red LEDs are recommended if you are conducting a natural species behaviour study. Many deep-sea creatures are unable to see in the red spectrum and using a red LED allows researchers to view biota in their natural behavior. Read more tips to pick the best deep-sea lights.
Deep-Blue
The deep-blue LED was designed for underwater biofluorescence and leak detection. Fluorescent chemicals absorb energy from light and then emit a different colour of light. Bio-fluorescence is the absorption and reemission of light from living organisms. Read more in our Guide to Subsea Lighting.
White LED
White LEDs are the most commonly used colour for subsea applications. This LED hybrid functions as a lamp for recording video or as a strobe for capturing digital stills in the highest detail. Rugged, and long-lasting, white LEDs are suitable for both short and long-term projects.
