For Canada’s 150th anniversary, the Town of Clarenville unveiled the “Faces of Clarenville” project as part of their many celebrations. Faces of Clarenville was a special project designed to recognize and acknowledge individuals and groups – past or present – that have made a significant impact to the town via their contributions, accomplishments, commitment, or perseverance.

In order to be considered, nominees should have affected the community in at least one of three areas:

Arts, culture and heritage: An individual or group that has helped contribute to the sense of place and pride in Clarenville. Having inspired others through their accomplishments, contributions, or talent, or by establishing an event or program that allows for the showcasing of other local creative talent.

Leadership and volunteerism: An individual or group that has worked tirelessly, passionately and collaboratively to make Clarenville a better place in which to live, work and raise a family. They have led by example, contributed their time selflessly, and found innovative ways to make positive change happen in the community.

Sport and recreation: An individual or group that has contributed to the strength of sport

in Clarenville. They have inspired people through their own accomplishments; established a program, a league, or an event; mentored a team or an individual to extraordinary accomplishment; or set an example for many to carry in their hearts.
