Ocean Observatory System Webinar - Scripps Institute of Oceanography 2021

In this webinar from Scripps Institute of Oceanography, SubC Imaging’s Founder and CEO, Chad Collett conducts a demo of an ocean observatory system that is using a SubC Rayfin camera. During the demo, Chad illustrates the Rayfin’s latest features while providing real life examples of applications where SubC’s clients have used the Rayfin for their research.

What you’ll learn:

  • What an ocean observatory is

  • Examples of real-world observatory projects

  • Observatory system technology - the versatility of the Rayfin

  • How SubC equipment is currently being used, and some spectacular footage that’s been gathered, in SubC’s own test ocean observatory

The real-world project examples include the University of Washington and the Marine Institute of Newfoundland and Labrador. Each uses Rayfin camera systems in their ocean observatories to run internal custom scripts that execute API commands to turn on LEDs, lasers and other sensors, as well as collect timelapse images and videos that span over a number of years.
